The opt-in flow
A user starts at gymbrotext.com/onboarding, creates their own account, and configures their workout schedule. Before recurring messages can begin, the user verifies control of their own mobile number with a one-time passcode. Phone verification alone does not enroll the number in recurring messages.
After verification, GymBro displays a separate consent screen with an unchecked checkbox. The user must affirmatively check it and select “Accept and continue.” A user may decline, keep the account they created, leave onboarding, and return later. Consent is required only to activate the SMS accountability service.
Disclosure shown beside the unchecked checkbox
“I agree to receive recurring automated GymBro accountability texts at the number I verified. Usually 1–6 texts per workout day depending on the intensity I select; timing varies and occasional double-texts may occur. Never more than 6 per day. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop or HELP for help.”
The screen links the SMS Terms, Terms, and Privacy Policy. Consent is not a condition of any unrelated purchase.
What users receive
GymBro sends recurring, user-requested gym accountability reminders to the same verified number. Timing varies inside the user’s chosen workout window. Depending on the selected intensity and whether the user checks in, the user may receive one to six messages on a selected workout day. Messages stop after a verified check-in, a pause, account deletion, or a STOP reply.
